Cheney's rap makes this all worth it. Can't say it makes me feel good at all, though.

Do as I say, not as I do

JUNE 24, 2007
What a hypocritical hack:

John McCain, who made his name attacking special interests, has more lobbyists working on his staff or as advisers than any of his competitors, Republican or Democrat.

A Huffington Post examination of the campaigns of the top three presidential candidates in each party shows that lobbyists are playing key roles in both Democratic and Republican bids --although they are far more prevalent on the GOP side. But, all the campaigns pale in comparison to McCain's, whose rhetoric stands in sharp contrast to his conduct.

"Too often the special interest lobbyists with the fattest wallets and best access carry the day when issues of public policy are being decided," McCain asserts on his web site, declaring that he "has fought the 'revolving door' by which lawmakers and other influential officials leave their posts and become lobbyists for the special interests they have aided."

....Not to say I'm surprised. Remember how vehement he was about Bush's negative and ugly campaigning against him? Now he's practically Georgie's best buddy. His actions definitely speak louder than his words.

I find myself feeling terribly un-moved by any of the candidates in the arena so far. I guess I'm still holding out for Mr Gore to decide to run. But, a President McCain or President Giuliani would not please me one bit. They're such phonies.

Damn the man

White supremacy, anyone?

O’REILLY: But do you understand what the New York Times wants, and the far-left want? They want to break down the white, Christian, male power structure, which you’re a part, and so am I, and they want to bring in millions of foreign nationals to basically break down the structure that we have. In that regard, Pat Buchanan is right. So I say you’ve got to cap with a number.

MCCAIN: In America today we’ve got a very strong economy and low unemployment, so we need addition farm workers, including by the way agriculture, but there may come a time where we have an economic downturn, and we don’t need so many.

O’REILLY: But in this bill, you guys have got to cap it. Because estimation is 12 million, there may be 20 [million]. You don’t know, I don’t know. We’ve got to cap it.

MCCAIN: We do, we do. I agree with you.

I just get a kick out of how many "old white men" are getting their panties in a twist over the thought that they might not be always be "kings of the hill", so to speak. And so they blame others. Yeah, the New York Times newspaper are salivating the thought of destroying anything white, male & christian. Yeahhhh-no. I'm not even wishing for that (okay, maybe I am a little bit). But I'm more concerned with immigration & human rights being violated to keep the racism white male power structure alive.

At one point a few years ago, I remember saying I wouldn't have minded McCain being president. I retract that. He's become one of them.

Why Mr. Gore, how you tease us so

FEBRUARY 26, 2007

Did any of you catch Al Gore's tease at the Oscars last night? Gah! (If you missed it, you can catch it here.) God, now that's an Oscar-worthy performance. My heart breaks a little each time he doesn't say he's running.

Glad An Inconvenient Truth won best documentary though. Hurray Mr Gore!

I know I've said it all before, but....

JANUARY 25, 2007
Run, Al, Run, by Tim Dickinson

If the Democrats were going to sit down and construct the perfect candidate for 2008, they'd be hard-pressed to improve on Gore. Unlike Hillary Clinton, he has no controversial vote on Iraq to defend. Unlike Barack Obama and John Edwards, he has extensive experience in both the Senate and the White House. He has put aside his wooden, policy-wonk demeanor to emerge as the Bush administration's most eloquent critic. And thanks to An Inconvenient Truth, Gore is not only the most impassioned leader on the most urgent crisis facing the planet, he's also a Hollywood celebrity, the star of the third-highest-grossing documentary of all time.
